Boarding Options and Rates

Boarding Options

  • Household boarding: Both dogs come from and live in the same household. Both must share an enclosed space well and eat timely. This reserves one kennel, we do not have the option to separate housemates during meal times.
  • Board alone at owner’s request: You want your dog to have their individual indoor and outdoor space to themselves. They will see other boarders both inside and outside, but they will not be in direct contact with them.
  • Board alone at Kingdale’s request: Some breeds (including mixes) should always be boarded alone, as should any dog with a history of aggression or resource guarding. Dogs that do not have frequent opportunities to socialize with other dogs should also stay alone. Some dogs enjoy playing with other dogs but do not want to share a confined space. All intact dogs must board alone (excluding housemates).
  • Evaluate for shared boarding: Some dogs enjoy having a companion during their stay. You can request that we evaluate your dog for shared boarding. This means having a buddy that we select from amongst the other boarders to share the indoor enclosure and the attached outdoor exercise run. During the evaluation, we must see evidence that your dog truly welcomes and enjoys sharing their space with a pal. We make matches based on age, size, temperament, activity level, and breed characteristics. To qualify for evaluation, a dog must have: (1) frequent opportunities to socialize with other dogs; (2) no history of resource guarding or aggression of any kind; (3) must consistently eat timely; and (4) must be spayed or neutered. Dogs who mount will not be allowed to share.

We reserve the right to change a pet’s boarding status to alone any time we believe it is unsafe or unwise to let that dog continue sharing a kennel. Peak-alone charges will apply if a status change occurs during a peak-demand time.
